| These advertisements were created for the Halifax
Community Learning Network in order to help raise literacy awareness
and communicate the need for continued government funding of the volunteer
literacy community.
Adult literacy impacts the lives of a substantial percentage Canadians
and affects more than basic reading and writing skills.
Both concepts grew out of discussions during Literacy
Nova Scotia's "Informing Government" Workshop, which took
place April 26-27, 2004, in Truro, Nova Scotia, and involved
representatives from literacy networks throughout Nova Scotia. The advertisements
are suitable for both online and print media.
